Weekend trainings are a great opportunity for a couple of reasons.
First, the community being reunited after a full week of practice.
Second, the understood expectation that we must make the most of every weekend in order to stay on pace - all players vary in the environments they are a part of, and best case, the daily development is still wildly inferior to the top programs on the East Coast, nevertheless, this is no excuse when faced with a desire and a dream. SO WE WORK.
Third, it is both a time to reflect and refocus. The conversations about practice, scrimmages, and other situations are opportunities to grow.
That being said, we will constantly remind the players that it CAN NOT just be “practice and weekend training.” The next 10+ weeks are a time for personal commitments. We LOVE being on this journey with every single player, hopefully it is clear we do not take it for granted.
How much can you give?
Before school wall ball
After Practice skill work / shooting.
Before practice speed work.
Strength training in the morning or evening.
Even though we do not see each other for 5+ days during the week you can still be / should be getting better.
